| Expression: A theatrical approach
Every child wants to express himself/herself, some through words and
some through actions. Find out what your child wants to express and
how. This unique
workshop teaches children to employ theatrical elements such as
rhythm,sound,movement,stances,dialogue,sketching,painting and writing
to bring out their emotions.
The 12 hour workshop spread over two weeks, has theater artist Vivek
Vijayakumaran as the facilitator. Vivek will focus on knowing each
child
individually to help them build and improve their self expressions.
The end of the workshop will have a presentation for the parents.
About Vivek Vijayakumaran
Theatre Artist. A student of Adil Hussain.Trained with Mahesh Dattani
while essaying the role of anarkali (a hijra) in his playSeven steps
around the
fire. Worked at the Adishakti laboratory for theatre art research, at
Maayavan with Abhishek Majumdar for a year working on Lucknow’76, at
ACMA
(attakkalari center for movement arts), and at kalari academy of
performing arts. An actor, director,works with children in schools and
women in slums as a
theatre facilitator and also with kathalaya as a storyteller for children.
